There's no immediate common denominator at work when you look inside our 'home,' lovingly referred to as 'The Tank.' You're as likely to find a triathlete, snowboarders and, of course, our share of self-confessed couch potatoes.
But one thing unites us all - we've got a passion for games and we've been chalking up hands-on experience for years. The games most often mentioned? Team Fortress 2, Battlefield 2, Warhammer, EverQuest, Quake (all), Half Life, Counterstrike, Final Fantasy, Jedi Knight, Sid Meir's Pirates!, Starcraft, Tribes, Riven and Syphon Filter.
We also like our space. It's in the heart of Yaletown in Vancouver, Canada, in a building made for software developers. You know - open concept loft space with lots of light, wall space for wicked art, a giant patio deck, and a fully stocked games room. Our offices are open and communal. We work around three distinct Piranha teams, each with a Programming, Art, and Level Design section - but everyone's aware of what's going on and we're fans of each others' best work. Everyone gets a large 'organic' workspace, the colour scheme is supposedly conducive to seriously warped and highly creative thought, and we show well to clients with all the usual business space like glass walled boardrooms and meeting areas. For those who are feeling peckish, we have a fully stocked kitchen filled with bagels, fruit, veggies and dip, candy bars, gummy worms, wagon wheels, etc...and pop coolers filled with both Pepsi AND Coke products (we're big on diversity here).
At the front door of our business - a large fish tank with our Red Belly piranha.
The Nameless One....
